Wireless Radar Detector

Wireless Radar Detectors are more hassle free as compared to their counterparts and you don't have
to worry about the power cord which sometimes distracts your view of the windshield.
You will also be able to have access to the controls of your cars' radio and airconditioning without fumbling on
the wires of the radar detector. Most wireless radar detector have a built in rechargeable battery which you can
easily get a AAA or AA disposable battery substitute if the need arise. Some models can run via solar
energy plus the rechargeable battery thus giving you more options as to the power supply of the wireless radar
detector.
Most of these battery powered cordless radar detectors can run up to 8 hours without the need of recharging and
some of the models have a battery saver mode in which it turns on and off the detector constantly thus increasing
the battery life by half. The only problem with this mode is it can decrease the warning time when it picks up a
radar. Overall though, the perfromance between a regular wired detector is about the same as the wireless
units.
Cost is one factor on these units that can have an impact on your buying decision and you have to
consider that the technology and the battery added to the wireless radar detector can add to the retail cost of the
unit. There is also a maintaince part just like using any battery powered electronic device in which
after a couple to several years of use, there will be a time then need to buy new rechargeable batteries.
Also, as the battery loses it's power, the hassle of plugging in the device to recharge also increases.
Just look around your favorite retailer to check out the their wireless units and when you find one that fits
your need, browse online and definitely, you can purchase a wireless radar detector a lot cheaper that paying them
from the store. Also stick with well known brands such as Whistler, Valntine and Cobra. They have been around the
block for a while and they do make quality radar detectors.
